on the day of the equinox this week, two students, one after the other told me how glad they were to see the first signs of autumn: the berries, the gathering clouds and the cooler weather.

as the natural world prepares to let go, to quieten into winter and to rest, perhaps we can use this unmistakeable shift in the season as a prompt to change what needs to be changed in our practice and to drop roots again as, after the heat, colour and light of summer ‘one feels a need for something more concrete, to return to habits, to go back home’
